Cristiano Ronaldo is aiming to continue his incredible record in Europe and reach his ninth consecutive semi-final Champions League semi-finals when Juventus take on Ajax on Tuesday evening.

Since Lyon eliminated Real Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 back in the 2009/10 season, Ronaldo has made to the final four of Europe’s elite competition in each of the following campaigns.

Juventus would be the team to knock out Madrid the following season but eventually Ronaldo would go on to claim the trophy in each of the last three campaigns with Los Blancos.

When the Champions League enters its decisive phase, there is simply no player more lethal than Cristiano Ronaldo.

The proof is in his staggering goals tally in the knockout phase of the competition, in which he scored 64 times compared to 61 goals in the group phase.

He has netted 24 times in the quarter-finals, 13 in the semis and four in the final, demonstrating his dominance at the business end of the campaign.

With Juventus looking to end their Champions League drought of 23 years, there is no player more suited to the task of carrying them all the way than the Portuguese forward.
