Barcelona are fighting so as not to be left behind in the chase for Matthijs de Ligt, with all of Europe’s elite clamouring to sign the Ajax captain.
Negotiations between the Catalans and the Dutch have already opened, but Juventus have proven themselves to be serious challengers in the pursuit, with both clubs having representatives watching the Netherlands’ games this international break.
Ajax have already accepted the likelihood of his departure this summer, which they are hoping to receive 70 million euros for. Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the conversation and keen to win the player’s signature.
De Ligt will play on Sunday for the Netherlands, with Juve’s sporting director Fabio Paratici watching on from the stands.
