Sandro transfer to Man Utd could be back on but it depends on one thing

Manchester United’s hopes of landing Alex Sandro appeared to be over when he penned a new five-year deal with Juventus in December.

Yet reports in Italy now suggest they could still land the left-back in the summer – on one condition.

According to Tuttosport , Juventus will consider letting the highly-rated defender leave if they sign his Brazil team-mate Marcelo from Real Madrid .

The experienced full-back is being heavily linked with a reunion with close friend Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin, which could open the door for United to land Sandro for a hefty fee.

They could face competition to land his signature, however, with Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid also interested in the former Real Madrid man.

Sandro, 29, would most likely to unwilling to play second fiddle to Marcelo during the height of his career.

The Biaconeri also have talented youngster Joao Cancelo waiting in the wings and able to provide adequate cover – and with an inability to accommodate all three Sandro could head for the exit.

The Red Devils were linked with a £50m move for Sandro in January before he penned a new deal.

They watched him regularly as Jose Mourinho targeted a left back and they are understood to still be interested with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently in caretaker charge.

There were also rumours of Sandro being used as part of a swap deal with Paul Pogba as the French World Cup winner was linked with a return to Serie A.

But Pogba has found a new lease of life under Solskjaer and appears more than happy to remain at Old Trafford for the time being with a chance of now being reunited with a former Juve team-mate.
