Chelsea must act now to secure Zinedine Zidane as the man to succeed under-fire manager Maurizio Sarri.
Zidane is Chelsea ‘s top target to take over as manager – but Italian giants Juventus are also desperate to take the French World Cup winner back to Turin.
Juventus want their former midfield legend to take over from current boss Massimiliano Allegri, who has told pals he wants to leave The Old Lady in the summer after completing what would be a fifth straight Serie A success.
Chelsea’s win over Spurs has eased the pressure on Sarri. His decision to axe Carabao Cup final rebel keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga paid off as Willy Caballero kept a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory on Wednesday which reignited the London club’s push for a top-four spot.
But the Stamford Bridge club must make their decision on Sarri’s future fast – or risk losing out on former Real Madrid boss Zidane.
Allegri is said to have become frustrated by expectations at Serie A giants Juventus, according to The Sun .
One of his pals said: “Max is about to win Serie A for the fifth time but all he hears is that he should be doing better in the Champions League. He feels it might be time for a change.”
It is believed in Italy Zidane would prefer to take the job back at his old club, so Chelsea must sign him up now.
