The morning after the night before is never pleasant – even more so when lose an El Clasico semi-final.
And Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari was determined not to make his day any worse after the horrors of Wednesday night – and that meant avoiding fans at all costs.
Solari was hilariously caught on camera appearing to make a swift U-Turn in his smart car to avoid a group of angry supporters as he tried to leave the training centre on Thursday.
The manager was attempting to leave the club car park a day after his side were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Barcelona at the Bernabeu , when he seemingly spotted the fans clustered by the exit.
The Argentine is not exactly the toast of the town following Madrid’s Copa del Rey second leg defeat and the former Los Blancos winger was evidently in no mood to mediate with disgruntled fans.
He slammed on the breaks and then performed a swift U-Turn, all caught on camera by Spanish outlet AS.
He raced away, leaving fans unable to voice their discontent at the cup exit to their fierce rivals.
Luis Suarez was Madrid’s nemesis on the night as he took charge of the finely poised second leg, which started with an aggregate 1-1 scoreline.
Los Blancos would have fancied their chances at the Bernabeu but the Uruguayan had other ideas, scoring twice for Barcelona – including a memorable panenka penalty.
The Catalans advance to the final and remain on course to win a domestic double – and potentially a treble if they can get past Lyon in the Champions League.
Europe’s elite competition is the only trophy Solari’s side can realistically challenge for this season, as they trail Barca by nine points in La Liga.
They face Ajax in the last-16 and currently lead 2-1 on aggregate
Solari won’t have long to wait to gain redemption against Ernesto Valverde’s side however, as the two sides meet again on Sunday in the league.
