Juventus boss Max Allegri has insisted that ‘football isn’t PlayStation’ in response to recent criticism of his team’s performances.

“Mandzukic is back, he’ll play with Ronaldo and one of Dybala, Bernardeschi and Douglas Costa,” Allegri said at a Press conference.

“We won’t dramatise the situation. We’ve lost just one game, where we were beaten heavily. Atalanta and Lazio were two photocopy performances, but in Rome we did well because we didn’t go 2-0 down, while things went wrong in Bergamo.

“There are times in a season when you screw up, and they’re moments to be managed with total serenity.

“There’s been criticism, but the team have picked up a few points since the season started… We apologise for losing in Bergamo, we shouldn’t have but we’ve already won a trophy, the Supercoppa, and we don’t want to let the others escape us.

“Juventus have won seven League titles in the last seven years and reached the Final in two of the last four Champions Leagues.

“When I arrived there was a fear of not being able to beat Malmo, but I thought I could reach the Final and win the Champions League with that team.

“Atletico are on Juventus’ level because they’ve played in Finals too. If we’re knocked out then we’ll accept the criticism.

“In Europe there are 6-8 teams who can reach the semi-finals, so four go out. I hear Juventus are already finalists, so if that’s the case I’ll ask UEFA to send us directly to the Final.

“Football isn’t PlayStation. We must try to win like we did in previous seasons, but to do that you need luck as well as skill,.

“It’s not the case that Ronaldo has come in and we’ll win for sure. It takes respect too. We’re working to win, but then there are the others too.

“That’s why raising trophies is an extraordinary thing and not normal. Playing good football is the easiest thing in the world. The difference is being able to win by playing good football.

“On the left there will be one of Spinazzola and Alex Sandro. Bernardeschi can play left-central midfield and there will be one of Khedira and Bentancur on the right of centre.

“Perin will play in goal. Someone has to take a breather, but we have fresh players to take advantage of.

“Dybala hasn’t gone missing. He’s played a lot of games and without Mandzukic he also has fewer chances to shoot.

“Chiellini has nothing serious, he needs two weeks to recover.”
