Sampdoria defender Jacopo Sala spoke to Il Secolo XIX about his campaign with the Blucerchiati. The former Verona man also commented on his last Serie A game played against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus. “He is a top player, he tricked me twice. The first one: he scored one goal and I could’ve done more. I watched the action on the replay and I could have forced him to kick with his weak foot”.
“The second trick was after the final whistle. I asked his shirt but he had already given it to another one of my team-mates. He promised, however, that he’d give it to me the next time we play one against the other”.
“During the game he doesn’t say a word. He is just focused on the game and his performance, he impressed me”.
“I had never played more than four games in a row, I knew there were criticisms but now my performances are good. I marked Ronaldo and things are changing”.
