Kylian Mbappe has named Eden Hazard as the best player he’s faced this year.

The pair locked horns in the World Cup semi-final between France and Belgium, where Mbappe was struck by the ability of the Chelsea winger.

‘I was amazed by his speed of execution, he is the player I played against this year impressed me the most,’ Mbappe told France Football.

‘With Belgium, in the semi-finals, he was impressive while still respecting the game.

‘When he has to pass the ball because the game commands it, he does so without any qualms. It’s a devil.

‘I was sometimes (he smiles) five meters away from him, and I was amazed by his speed of execution, with the ball sticking to his foot all the time, his permanent information with his head still down.

‘There is no space he does not see.’

Hazard carried his form from the World Cup, where his side were knocked out 1-0 by Les Bleus, into the Premier League campagin.

The diminutive winger shares a number of traits with Mbappe, who recently won the award for the best young player in world football.

The 19-year-old has already established himself as a global star and no doubt he will cross paths with Hazard again in the future.
