Dani Carvajal has said that Isco will have his opportunity to return to the fold at Real Madrid.

Dani Carvajal has stood by out-of-favour team-mate Isco in an interview this Friday ahead of Real Madrid’s clash with Valencia on Saturday.

Isco has not started a single game since Santiago Solari took over at the end of October, leading to questions about his future at Real Madrid, but Carvajal has insisted that the Spain midfielder will have his opportunity to return to the fold at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Isco is already a mature player, he’s been here for years and I’m sure when the boss gives him the chance, he will take it. He is an important player for us. He’s a player that contributes a lot of things. The decision to put him in or not put him is the coach’s, but I see him working well, and I’m sure he’ll end up being important,” said the defender.

Isco’s drop to the bench has been a major talking point in the Spanish media, but Solari was eager to kill more talk on the matter in a press conference this Friday.

“Honestly, I think there’s not really anything to talk about here,” he said. “There are 24 professionals, they are all working hard and we have to take decisions. There’s nothing more to say. I do whatever I consider is best for every single player. Every single one is important. We are all Real Madrid.”
