Paris Saint-Germain won the battle to sign Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2017, but it took a lot of negotiating with the player.
The teenage superstar had a list of requests as he planned his move to the capital city club, some of which they had to deny.
According to Football Leaks revelations published in L’Equipe, he wanted a clause in his contract that would make him the highest-paid player in the squad if he were to win the Ballon d’Or.
He wanted his salary to rise to Neymar’s level of 30 million euros in that situation, but this was rejected and it was instead agreed that there’d be a one-off bonus of 500,000 euros.
Also rejected was a request for compensation should PSG be administratively excluded from the Champions League for “an excessive deficit”.
The teenager also asked for 50 hours’ use of a private jet per year, but this too was denied.
They did agree to pay 30,000 euros per month towards his rent and the cost of hiring three personal employees, a butler, a driver and a security guard.
