Real Madrid made it two wins out of two under caretaker manager Santiago Solari on Saturday after he led his troops to a late 2-0 victory at home to Real Valladolid, which followed the midweek 4-0 cup triumph over Melilla.
Solari will hope that the back-to-back wins boost his chances of bagging the permanent job, and he remains in the top echelons of the betting alongside Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez, Arsene Wenger, and Antonio Conte.
However, Leonardo Jardim has now rocked up and caused a stir after his odds were slashed from 50/1 to just 7/1 in the Next Real Madrid Manager Market.
Jardim is both ready and available, having left his post at Monaco last month, and the Portuguese coach would no doubt jump at the chance to take charge of the Spanish giants.
Jardim enjoyed an, on the whole, superb four seasons at Monaco with whom he led to the French Ligue 1 title in 2016/17, and in the same season the club reached the Champions League semi-finals, where they were beaten by Juventus.
However, a disappointing start to the current campaign saw Jardim axed, with managerial novice Thierry Henry taking over at the Stade Louis II.
Jardim previously lifted the Greek Superleague title and Greek Football Cup with Olympiakos, and won the Portuguese Segunda Liga with Beira-Mar, and the AF Madeira Cup during his time at Camacha.
Should Real Madrid opt for Jardim, it could well boost the club’s chances of luring Kylian Mbappe over to the Bernabeu, with the Frenchman previously flourishing under the manager during his time at Monaco.
