CHELSEA are targeting Lyon star Nabil Fekir to replace Eden Hazard if he moves to Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Blues have been excellent under new boss Maurizio Sarri, going unbeaten all season and finding a style that is easy on the eye.
Under the Italian, Chelsea have switched from a rigid 3-4-3 system to a possession-based 4-3-3.
It has seen the likes of Hazard and Willian showcase their attacking talents, but there are worries on the horizon for the Stamford Bridge club.
Real Madrid have long held an interest in their Belgian forward, who has scored eight goals this season.
And with his contract expiring in 2020, Chelsea may be forced into a decision this summer if the 27-year-old fails to pen a new contract.
If he does leave, there will be a huge problem at Stamford Bridge and a replacement must surely be top of their priorities.
But the club have reportedly identified the ideal man to come in to replace the former Lille forward, should he leave.
According to Mercato365, Lyon playmaker Fekir has been pinpointed by Chelsea scouts.
The Frenchman was part of Didier Deschamps’ World Cup-winning squad this summer in Russia.
And he nearly joined Liverpool in the transfer window but problems with his knee arose in his medical.
A £50m bid was close to going through and another offer in the same area could be what is necessary to acquire him from the Blues.
The 25-year-old is highly regarded at Lyon, where he has been for his whole career.
