De Bruyne has only recently returned to action following an injury to his other knee

Kevin de Bruyne will miss the Manchester derby after being ruled out for at least one month with a knee injury, according to Telegraph.

The forward was injured in Manchester City’s 2-0 Carabao Cup win over Fulham on Thursday night.

He has already spent six weeks on the sidelines with an injury to his other knee and will sit out the home clash with Manchester United on Sunday week.

The Belgian will also mis Premier League clashes against Southampton and West Ham as well as City’s Champions League clash against Shakhtar Donetsk.

He could return for the trip to Lyon on November 27.

City boss Pep Guardiola said on Thursday: “He’s being checked with the doctors so I don’t know right now (how he is).

“I think today Kevin is back, the Kevin we know. He spent a lot of time injured but made a huge effort in Donetsk against Shakhtar and played a few minutes against Spurs in a difficult situation because of the pitch and the physicality.
