PSG’s sporting Director Antero Henrique has been tasked with the job of bringing in a defensive midfielder – and Fabinho is on the list
He was used sparingly in the first part of the season, but summer signing Fabinho has just started to come into his own at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes his £43million signing is ready to prove he is capable of taking his team to another level, with his ‘perfect attributes’ as a holding midfielder.
Paris Saint-Germain know all about him too – and they’re after a defensive midfielder in the January transfer window.
Sporting Director Antero Henrique has been tasked with the job of bringing someone in, but they don’t have a lot, only around €24m to make it happen.
And here’s where it gets interesting – if a little far-fetched.
The well-sourced French newspaper Le Parisien claim that former Monaco man Fabinho is ‘bored’ at Liverpool – and Henrique believes they can prise him away on loan.
When asked about a January move, sources at PSG say: “We will be active”.
Le Parisien believe the only stumbling block to the deal is the French club’s bad relationship with his agent Jorge Mendes.
However this potential move doesn’t seem to add up.
Especially with what’s happening with the Brazilian at Anfield at this time.
The Reds haven’t been firing on all cylinders in recent weeks, despite keeping pace Manchester City down in the Premier League.
The Brazilian has struggled to find his feet too, but has started the last two matches for his new club.
