Juventus could play a variant of 4-4-2 against Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight, according to reports.

The Bianconeri have just three fit central midfielders for tonight’s match, with Emre Can and Sami Khedira both out injured.

Both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport predict that Coach Massimiliano Allegri will opt for something of an asymmetrical 4-4-2 formation.

That would involve Miralem Pjanic and Rodrigo Bentancur in central midfield, with Juan Cuadrado on the right wing.

Gazzetta reports Blaise Matuidi would play on the left as a mezzala, more of a wide central midfielder than a winger, while Corriere dello Sport expects Federico Bernardeschi as a more orthodox winger.

TuttoJuve also reports that Allegri is considering 4-4-2, but that he could also decide to go 3-5-2.

The Coach said in his Press conference that he’d play four at the back, though it’s possible that was to throw rival Jose Mourinho off the scent.

In that case, the ‘BBC’ defence of Andrea Barzagli, Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini would start, with Joao Cancelo and Alex Sandro at wing back and Juan Cuadrado as a mezzala on the right.

Paulo Dybala and Cristiano Ronaldo seem certain to start up-front in either formation.

Probable Juventus line-up: Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Cuadrado, Pjanic, Bentancur, Matuidi; Dybala, Ronaldo
