Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has denied reports that the club are attempting to lure Neymar back to Catalonia after he left them for Paris Saint-Germain little over a year ago.

The Los Cules chief, speaking to Radio Barcelona, didn’t close the door on a future move for the Brazilian star though.

“Nobody on the Barcelona board is planning for the possibility of getting Neymar back,” he said.

“Today, it’s a question that cannot be answered because nobody has assessed it.”

“It was he who decided to leave. It could have been that we didn’t believe in him then and now want to bring him back, but that’s not the case.

“Anyway, if the situation arose, we would have to discuss it with the board, but until now that hasn’t been the case.”
