Inter are ready to revive their approach for Real Madrid midfielder and Ballon d’Or favourite Luka Modric, claims the Corriere dello Sport.

According to the Italian newspaper, the Croatia international is still not happy at the Bernabeu and remains open to an exit.

The Nerazzurri’s attempts to poach Modric over the summer infuriated Real Madrid, who tried reporting Inter to FIFA and repeatedly criticised them in the media.

Nonetheless, today’s front page of the Corriere dello Sport suggests the 33-year-old does not get along with new Coach Julen Lopetegui and relations with President Florentino Perez remain frosty.

It also notes that if Inter were to get Modric, it’d only happen if Real Madrid got a suitable star name to replace him.

Options would include Neymar or Kylian Mbappé of Paris Saint-Germain.

Another version of events is given by Tuttosport, who suggest Inter are looking to Modric’s ‘heir’ in Croatia, 22-year-old Ivan Sunjic.

Owned by Dinamo Zagreb, he is currently on loan at NK Lokomotiva and already has one senior cap for his country.
