Former Juventus and Italy Coach Antonio Conte is reportedly in pole position for the Real Madrid job if they sack Julen Lopetegui.
The Spaniard is under pressure after four games without a win, three of which were defeats, in which his side didn’t score a single goal.
After reports yesterday that Conte was being considered as a potential replacement, Mundo Deportivo is now reporting that he’s at the top of the shortlist.
The Italian has the pedigree, having won three Scudetti with Juventus, as well as the Premier League and the FA Cup with Chelsea.
He also took Italy to the European Championship quarter-finals, with his side impressing before losing on penalties to Germany.
Conte is the only top Coach currently available other than Zinedine Zidane, and Zizou resigned the Real Madrid job in the summer.
