Dani Carvajal revealed how Neymar said he would stay when he was with him in the Real Madrid youth team.
The Madrid fullback arrived at the club as a youngster in 2002 and coincided during a spell with Neymar who was also there as a teenager.
“I remember Neymar perfectly well in the youth team,” he said.
“He told us that he was going to stay and we all lifted him up and celebrated with him.”
Madrid have struggled this season under Julen Lopetegui following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carvajal said the key is to play more as a team, while promoting Luka Modric for the Ballon d’Or award.
“Modric is the essence of football,” he explained.
“It is not just about the goals, but Iniesta had a chance and they didn’t give it to him.”
Carvajal also admitted that one day he would like to play in England.
“I am clear that I want to play in the Premier League,” he continued.
“It is an experience that I wouldlike to have and I don’t want to remain without this.”
