La Repubblica claims that Cristiano Ronaldo believes Real Madrid are behind a plot to bring him down, including the rape allegations.

It precipitated his decision to leave for Juventus over the summer, but La Repubblica has an extraordinary theory that Ronaldo believes Real Madrid are out to get him.
They claim Ronaldo “is convinced everything that is happening (failing to win awards, the rape allegations, his red card against Valencia, sponsors running away) is taking the form of a conspiracy (and Perez, it goes without saying, is pulling the strings).
“He is certainly not calm and focused, as seen in the first games of the season.”
