Tottenham star to stall contract talks because of Real Madrid interest

Christian Eriksen is reported to stall the contract renewal process with his current club Tottenham in light of the recently emerged rumours linking him with Real Madrid, as Sunday’s Daily Mirror has claimed. The midfielder has just two years left on his deal with Spurs who are, obviously, keen on renewing their star player.

On Saturday Sky Sports came up with an interesting report in which it was said that Real Madrid wee monitoring Eriksen’s situation at Tottenham as they see him as a perfect replacement for Luka Modric, should the Croat midfielder opt for Inter Milan move.

The same source has claimed both Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to be other teams in the race for the Denmark international having also stated it will require £100m to sign the midfielder.

By the way, Denmark head coach Morten Olsen, recently stated that Eriksen is ready for a big club like Real Madrid (or Barcelona). “’He is growing, and he is also better in the national team because every Sunday he is used to playing against the best and top players. He is already a top player, and he is ready for a team like Barcelona or Real Madrid.”
