Cristiano Ronaldo might be living the high life in Turin now, but he’s still a living legend for Real Madrid.

Some statistics for you: during Ronaldo’s time with Los Blancos, he’s won four Ballons d’Ors, won 16 league titles, scored 450 goals in 438 games, provided 119 assists, and netted 44 hat-tricks.

That’s some record, regardless of where Ronaldo is playing now.

And so, according to the Daily Mail, Los Blancos will honour their greatest ever player by inviting him back for the 2019 edition of the Bernabeu Trophy, with his new side Juventus participating in the event, meaning Ronaldo will play at the Bernabeu at least more, giving supporters the chance to give him a proper send off.

Some Real Madrid players have admitted that replacing Ronaldo and while continuing their brilliant success will take some doing.

“His 50 goals a season are not easy to replace,” Toni Kroos said as per AS.

“Cristiano has been an essential building block in our team over the past few years and a decisive factor in our success.

“But we will be hard to beat again this year.”

Despite this, Dani Ceballos remains optimistic about the future: “We are playing in a different way, using the ball differently, taking up different positions on the pitch,” he said.

“This Madrid scores goals. [Gareth] Bale is plugged in, Karim [Benzema], Marco [Asensio] … you will not notice Cristiano’s absence.”
