Cristiano Ronaldo has said that with all the respect he has for his friens, he is not a player who would play in a non-competing league, so he chose Juventus from a top league.

Ronaldo, 33, has joined Juventus from Real Madrid for 112m euros and has signed a four-year contract with an annual salary of 30m euros, meaning that the Portuguese will be part of the “Old Lady” until the age of 37.

Many players over the age of 30 go to other leagues such as China, Japan and the United States, such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta and Wayne Rooney.

Ronaldo has hinted that he had other offers, but his goal is always to play in the highest level of football.

“At my age players usually go to other places, with all their respect … at this point in my career playing at such a big club makes me happy. I think Juventus has given me a great opportunity, “said Ronaldo.

“I am a person who likes the present, I am still young and I have always liked the challenges in Sporting in Manchester United and now Juventus, which is a challenge I am prepared for. I want to be in the history of Juventus and I am happy for this challenge, “he added.
