OFFICIAL: Antonio Conte leaves Chelsea manager role

Antonio’s conte career at Chelsea has come to an end, only one season after he led the Blues to the Premier League trophy.

Chelsea’s performance has been surprisingly poor last season, despite winning the FA Cup, they’ve still failed to secure a top-four spot and missed out on the Champions League next season.

Conte took over at Juventus in 2011, where he implemented a 3–5–2 formation and won three consecutive Serie A titles, before taking charge of the Italian national team in 2014 until the UEFA Euro 2016 campaign.

He became the current manager of Chelsea in April 2016 and led them to the Premier League title in his first season in charge.

Former Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri is expected to be the next Chelsea manager.

Official Statement

Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company.

During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.

We wish Antonio every success in his future career.
