Chelsea agree on £53m deal for former Real Madrid striker

The Blues are believed to be close to reaching an agreement with Juventus over the Higuain’s reported £53m Stamford Bridge move
According to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, Chelsea have all but secured Juventus’ 30-year-old striker Gonzalo Higuain. It is indicated in the report that the Blues will pay €60 million (£53 million) to sign the Argentinian and the move will be announced as soon as Maurizio Sarri officially takes over at Stamford Bridge.

The news contradicts to the information earlier provided by the Italian media as, according to both Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea and Juve were interested in each other’s striker. The Italians were eager to return Alvaro Morata back to Turin and Chelsea wanted Gonzalo Higuain.
