• According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City are planning to make a £50m bid to pry Thiago Alcantara away from Bayern Munich.

The Spanish midfielder is seen as an ideal replacement for David Silva, who turned 32 this year and might start to struggle for match fitness, as per Guardiola: “Next season, David maybe will not play every game, that’s why the squad has to be big.”

Thiago, aged 27, is under contract with the German club until 2021 and they will reportedly demand at least €80m for his transfer. Although the recent signing of Leon Goretzka might open the door for ex-Barca man to leave.
