Paul Pogba spotted spending day off with Manchester United transfer target from Madrid

Manchester United star Paul Pogba got tongues wagging after he spent Monday with Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who the Red Devils tried to sign last summer. The French midfielder and his United teammates were given the day off after their spectacular come-from-behind victory over fierce rivals Manchester City that prolonged their wait for the Premier League title. Pogba was the man of the match at the Etihad, scoring twice in quick succession after the restart, and he chose to celebrate with Griezmann a couple of days later.

The midfielder, once the most expensive player in the world, posted an Instagram story of himself and Griezmann driving around in the forward’s Rolls Royce.

The pair were in good spirits as they sang along to ‘Bella’ by Wolfine, and it got United fans excited once again that they might be reunited for good at Old Trafford.

United seemed destined to sign Griezmann last summer, with Pogba dropping numerous hints, though he ultimately decided to remain at Atletico after their transfer ban was upheld. But Griezmann looks set to finally leave Madrid this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, though recently denied that a transfer was already agreed.

In a Canal Plus interview last month while on international duty, Pogba said to Griezmann: ‘If we could have this every day…’ ‘That would be beautiful to play alongside you and win trophies,’ Griezmann replied before quickly backtracking. ‘But be careful! That doesn’t mean I want to go to Manchester United,’ he added.
