The first ever football transfer made with Bitcoin

An amateur club in Turkey says they are the first football clubs that have transferred player with cryptocoin player.

Omer Faruk Kiroglu was paid with 0.0524 Bitcoin (438 euros) and 2,500 Turkish lira (530 euros) to move to Harunustapor, the team competing in Group B of First Division “Sakarya”.

“We did it to become famous in our country and in the world,” said Haldun Sehit fore CNN Turk club.

“As the president said, we are doing something new,” the player added. Crypto coins are becoming popular in sports.

Arsenal recently signed a sponsorship deal with a cruptocoin company, while Barcelona striker Lionel Messi and Floyd Mayweather also advertise some coins.
