Chelsea and Juventus have made enquiries into the possibility of signing Danilo from Real Madrid during the summer window, reports say.

Both clubs are hoping to strengthen their defensive options in the coming months after winning the English and Italian titles respectively.

Chelsea stormed to the Premier League in Antonio Conte’s first season in England while Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus won Serie A by four points after only losing five games throughout the campaign.

Juventus are believed to be leading the race to sign Danilo – recent reports in Italy claim the 25-year-old is close to agreeing terms over a summer switch.

But Spanish outlet Marca say Conte’s Chelsea are also interested in securing a deal for Danilo, who Real signed two years ago from Porto.

The Brazil international endured a mixed season at the Bernabeu, only playing 20 games as Real secured a stunning double, and it is claimed the club will consider offers in the region of £30million.

Danilo, who was linked with Liverpool and Arsenal earlier in the year, has only played 41 league games for Madrid since being signed for around £27m in 2015 and may be open to a move to secure more game-time with a World Cup on the horizon.

Meanwhile, Chelsea hope to make progress in their pursuit of Alex Sandro on Monday when they plan to hold talks with the Juventus star.

The 26-year-old is said to be keen on a move to England and the Blues are prepared to sanction a club record £60m bid for his services.
