Real Madrid president, Floretino Perez, claims that rumoured Arsenal target, James Rodriguez, won’t be sold this summer.

1.James not for sale this summer
2.Arsenal and Manchester United previously linked with forward
3.Forward said to be valued between £61m and £70m

Arsenal and Manchester United have both been linked with James this summer. However, Perez insists that Real won’t be allowing him to leave, claiming that the forward is one of the best players in the world.

“He is one of the best players in the world, he belongs to Madrid and Madrid players do not leave when they want to or their parents want them to,” Perez told esRadio [via the Mirror].

“We have to match the interests of the players with ours, but mostly those of Madrid.”

With Alvaro Morata looking increasingly likely to sign for United, Perez is understandably reluctant to allow James to leave as well.

The 25-year-old, who signed for Los Blancos from Monaco in 2014, made 33 appearances last season. However, these totaled 1,844 minutes, which works out at around 56 minutes per appearance.

In that time, he still managed to score 11 goals and assist 13, which is impressive.

The Colombia international has three years left on his current deal and Real are thought to value him between £61m and £70m.
