Real Madrid will sign Mbappe after selling this star player!?

Real Madrid are holding out for an optimal fee for Alvaro Morata from Manchester United in order to fund the signing of Kylian Mbappe, according to reports.

The La Liga champions are reportedly demanding a fee of £79m to let Morata, who wants more game time elsewhere, join Man United this summer.

President Florentino Perez recently revealed that no bid had been received for the 24-year-old and that he would remain at the Bernabeu.

But according to Spanish outlet Diario Go, Madrid do plan on selling Morata, but only in a way that ensures they will have the funds necessary to pursue Mbappe.

You may think that Madrid – the reigning European champions and ostensibly run like a financial plutocracy – are being unfair to United for demanding an exorbitant fee just to pursue their own ends. And they are, in a way – this is Perez’s kingdom, after all.

At the same time, however, this is smart business: firstly because they know Mourinho will pay through the nose to sign Morata – the only viable option up front this summer – and secondly because, for all of Madrid’s regal pomp, United are a richer club and have demonstrated before their willingness to shell out astronomical sums on young talents, and Morata will be no exception.
