Drastic change in football: No more 2×45 minutes?

International Football Association Board (IFAB) is planning a big change in the football game.
The rules in football are changing year after year, some less noticeable and some much more.

Technology as in any other sphere is affecting football, but not in the new decision of IFAB.

The International Football Association Board (IFAB), which deals with changing football rules, is thinking about changing the time in football.

They think there is no need to be played 2 x 45min but only 2x30min.

Unlike the current rules, they predict 60 minutes to be effective, stopping the time when the ball goes out of line.

Even so, during a match due to interruptions, they lose more than 30 minutes.

The average effective minutes last season in Bundesliga was 56.05 minutes per game.
