Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has held a meeting with Tottenham Hotpsur manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Back in January, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino was added into the mix of potential contenders to replace Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique.

At that time, Enrique had not decided his future with Barcelona hoping he would extend his contract beyond the current season.

As we now know, Enrique has decided to leave Camp Nou and Barcelona have begun the search for his successor.

Athletic Bilbao’s Ernesto Valverde and Enrique’s Barcelona assistant Juan Carlos Unzue are the two current favourites, but it appears that Bartomeu has also sounded out Pochettino.

Pochettino would be a difficult target as he has a contract until 2021 at White Hart Lane, but that hasn’t stopped him having a meal out in a restaurant in the centre of Barcelona with the Barcelona president.

Pochettino splits his time between London and Barcelona, with the former Espanyol player and manager still owning property in Barcelona.

Spanish newspaper Sport reported: ‘Josep Maria Bartomeu and Mauricio Pochettino met a couple of days ago in a restaurant in Barcelona. A meeting that comes at an interesting time with the club looking for Luis Enrique’s substitute.’.
