Ronaldo to Manchester is done!

Jose Mourinho reportedly has no interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United complete a transfer move for Alexis Sanchez this January.

Arsenal star Sanchez, 29, is set to complete a move to Old Trafford imminently, with 28-year-old Henrikh Mkhitaryan expected to travel to north London in exchange for the Chilean attacker.

It’s understood the Red Devils will pay around £35million for Sanchez and the ex-Barcelona forward will be handed the No.7 shirt once a deal is complete.

Spanish outlet Marca suggests United had ‘reserved’ the shirt number for Real Madrid icon Ronaldo – the legendary 32-year-old has consistently been linked with a return to the club in recent seasons.

It’s claimed, though, Sanchez’s arrival will put an end to United’s plans to re-sign Ronaldo and Mourinho has no intention of landing the Portugal superstar.

Pep Guardiola congratulated United on their imminent move for Sanchez after Manchester City were beaten by their rivals to the Chilean’s signature.

‘I’m not the guy with the mathematics, the numbers. At the end what I know is he is still at Arsenal,’ City’s boss said on Friday.

‘I think he will go to United – congratulations for both of them. The players and their managers decide where they want to play, good luck.

‘The players and their managers decide what’s best for both.

‘My opinion of Alexis remains the same – a pleasure at Barca and he’s going to decide to move on to another club and I wish him all the best.’
