Real Madrid are plotting a move Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar and are ready to let some of their stars leave in order to fund a move for the Brazilain superstar. According to the latest sources in the Italian press, the reigning European champions are preparing themselves for a major clear out at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to try and lure the 25-year-old former Barcelona frontman. It is believed that the Los Blancos will look to part ways with the trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema who have all flattered to deceive with their performances this season which has seen their rivals, Barcelona open up by a 19-point gap to them at the top of the La Liga standings.

It is also being reported that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has resisted pressure from Ronaldo with the Portuguese forward wanting a new bumper contract at Madrid. Apparently, the 2017 Ballon d’Or winner is upset at earning less than Lionel Messi following the Argentine captain’s bumper extension at the Camp Nou. However, with Ronaldo currently 32 years of age and showing major signs of decline, it looks increasingly likely that the Galácticos are ready to push the reset button and make a fresh start at the Spanish capital.

Ronaldo has scored just 4 goals and made 2 assists in 14 La Liga matches. However, he has still bagged 9 goals in the Champions League group stages which indicates that the Portuguese can still be a big asset at Madrid. His teammate, Gareth Bale has also underperformed in this campaign and has featured in 16 matches for the Los Blancos, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists. The Welsh wizard’s performance this term has definitely not been up to his usual high standards.

Perhaps, one of the biggest problems for Real Madrid in this campaign has been the form of striker Karim Benzema. The French striker is looking like a shadow of his former self and has struggled to show any kind of consistency this season. He has scored 5 goals and made 3 assists in 20 appearances for the Galacticos but has been wasteful in front of goal on multiple occasions which have cost his team some crucial results.

In contrast, Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian superstar Neymar has been in the form of his life for the Parisian club this season which has seen him score 20 goals and provide 14 assists in 22 appearances for the French giants. Hence, he has basically had a hand in 34 goals in 22 matches in this campaign. It is no wonder that Zinedine Zidane’s Galacticos wants to build their team around him.

It remains to be seen what lies ahead in the future of the aforementioned Real Madrid stars and whether the Los Blancos are able to convince the PSG forward to join them in the near future.
